Resources to address your doubts

On Sunday, the message was primarily addressed to seekers and skeptics who are examining the claims of Christianity. I suggested, based on 1 Corinthians 15, that the pursuit of truth should begin at the Christian claim that Jesus rose from the dead. If Jesus rose from the dead, then God has power over death which means people can have hope in life beyond the grave and hope in power available from God to navigate whatever life throws our way.

I invited people to fully examine the resurrection claim and I offer these resources below as a great place to start. All three of these books/DVDs are written by intellectuals who were atheists and became Christians based on the evidence. If you attend Discovery, are not a follower of Christ and would like us to buy one of these resources for you, you can email me at steve.cuss@discovery-church.org

The first resource is by C.S Lewis, an Oxford Literature professor and perhaps the most famous defense of Christianity in print. The book is brief and brilliant in its logic:

The second resource is by Lee Strobel
who was a journalist with the Chicago Tribune and approached the evidence for Christ from a strict journalistic perspective. Below I've linked to the DVD for variety, but the book is just as excellent.

Finally, (on this list at least, there are plenty of other great resources) I suggest you check out Francis Collins, a biologist who lead the Genome Project mapping out the human DNA.

if you have other great resources you'd like to share, feel free to leave them on the comments!

Another very good resource would be the "Does God Exist" ministry done by John Clayton. He was a atheist who studied himself into a believer while trying to disprove God.His web site is Does God Exist dot org. This is from his website.

"This journal is a part of a program of service titled Does God Exist? The purpose of the program is to provide thinking, seeking people with scientific evidence that God does exist and that the Bible is His Word. It is our conviction that all men can logically, and rationally believe in God. In addition to this bimonthly journal, the Does God Exist? program offers DVDs and video tapes, CDs and audio tapes, courses, books, and other materials."
